Carl [kahrl] -noun
1. A strong, robust fellow, especially a strong manual laborer. 2. A miser; an extremely thrifty person. 3. A 25 year old Irish guy with too much to say and not enough people to listen.
If this blog is to ever become active again, it’s going to be a much more general array of rantiness and whatnot.
So while I’m still not ready to return with my usual nonsense, here’s a word from a hero of mine.
This is Stephen Colbert’s message to all of those journalists out there sick and tired of reporting about Sarah Palin and her usual nonsensical existence in the media.
If you don’t like what you see, it’s probably best we part ways… because when I do come back, you can expect a helluva lot more than this.
(Apologies if you’re getting ads, I have no control over them)
It really does suck that Irish politics ends up just being like everywhere else.
Government falls apart because of an international crisis that wasn’t their fault
Opposition blames them anyway
A country of idiots jump on the bandwagon
Opposition gets into power
Opposition then realise how bad things are, - “Yup, it’s awful and we’re gonna suck too, but it’s still the other guys fault for not fixing things we’re not gonna fix either”
Country of idiots forget who they were supporting and put into power and start hating government again.
Repeat.
Democracy is so-so, at best. Humans as a general population aren’t clever enough to maintain a good Democracy.
Yeah, yeah, “how can you say this with all that has happened in Egypt and Libya, blah blah blah”. Please hush immediately if that’s what you think. Anyone who plays that card as if current democracy and absolute tyranny followed up with genocide are the only two options really isn’t worth the typing time.
The only time democracy has a chance of working is when one side is completely ridiculous… like in America. Bush, followed by Palin are the best things that happened over there in a long time… means the sane people get into power and get to keep the crazies well away from doing anything really stupid.
We all get it; Republicans are rich assholes who only care about corporation money who would happily watch non-whites & non-rich folk rot in the streets, and the Tea Party are mildly retarded monkeys whose intelligence is matched only by that of a youtube comments section on a video about religion… but you can’t keep using them as an excuse of incompetence!
Just because you oppose the bad guys, that does NOT make you the good guys.
I like Barry O’Bama, I really do. I like Harry Reid too. But the lack of power and lack of authority being shown by the “big guys” is laughable.
“Hey guys, let’s use Obama’s twitter to spam over 9million people online with shit they wont read, and will ultimately lose us followers and support on the internet” - Who was the fucktard who thought that would help?
Tweeting is a sign of a powerful president? Of a dude in control? Then I must fucking own China by now.
And don’t get me started on his last two speeches to the nation. “Pick up your phones and call your congressman, even though we bloody well know they have 246325 assistants that YOU are paying for to answer your call and not recognise anything you say and just put it down to some form of mass-media hype that doesn’t mean shit and will NEVER reach the congressman”. Bra-fucking-vo.
What THE FUCK happened to the Jedi-catch-a-fly-in-my-hand-and-set-it-free-while-drinking-Guinness-like-a-pro-and-instantly-stopping-babies-from-crying-all-while-shooting-a-three-pointer-into-Osama’s-eye-that-I-shot Obama? Where is “I got this” Obama?
I tell you where he is… he’s bent over the GOP’s workbench with his balls in a Tea Party sponsored vice, partly because the American people are fucking idiots who allowed these freshman morons into The House, but mostly because THE FUCKING PRESIDENT OF YOUR COUNTRY has no actual fucking power!
Fuck you, America, and fuck all y’all in it. Fuck me, and fuck the rest of the world. We might as well all fuck ourselves right now instead of giving these feeble minded anti-evolution, anti-logic, anti-fucking-everything-that-doesn’t-immediately-line-their-pockets dipshits the satisfaction of raping away every ounce of hope we have left in this fucked up capitalist nightmare THEY created and THEY’RE now making us pay for.
This is a world-wide issue that effects us all. Whether I’m home in Europe, or in my new home in America, this is all a load of donkey balls.
If you’re on the republican side of the debate and are reading this, consider the last 2 minutes of reading this my own personal filibuster against your over-privileged unnecessary existence.
God bless America! God bless America right down to the deepest depths of hell that is this stupid fucking political system…
“President Barack Obama quashed proposed rules on ozone from the Environmental Protection Agency, agreeing with Republicans and industry to withdraw the costliest regulation being considered by the administration.”
—
…“The signal today was that message is being heard” by the White House, Jack Gerard , president of the American Petroleum Institute in Washington, which represents companies such as Exxon Mobil Corp., said in an interview.
—
…“This action alone will prevent more job losses than any speech the president has given,” Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky , the top Republican in the Senate, said in a statement.
—
“The White House completely capitulated to an industry lobbying campaign based on lies” that it would harm the economy, said John Walke, clean-air director of the National Resources Defense Council in Washington. “They found themselves having to repeat those lies.”
Another win for Boehner and co. What’s that…. 6-0 now in the last few months?
Cut spending on the environment.
Protecting “big oil”.
AAA rating cut to AA+ under Obama’s presidency.
Spending cuts and debt ceiling first priority; spending to create jobs not even considered.
OK that’s 4 things off the top of my head that have been the “biggest stories” out of Washington lately. All positives for republicans. All things no Democrat wanted.
All done just to avoid addressing the ridiculous tax cuts.
It gave an excuse to the politicians who already wanted war to go ahead with that war.
Then a thirst for blood and revenge from a minority of American’s changed the world.
Also…
That thirst then emptied their bank account and left them in the red. More red than they were used to, or could handle.
Then that negative bank account was ignored by those who could fix it, and exploited by those who knew how to make money off it.
Then the aftermath of that destroyed economies all over the world; “Changed the world”.

There’s an important difference between how certain American politicans want us to view 9/11’s effect on the world (see title), and the actual history and events that led to any “changes” that has happened in the last 10 years.
A handful of bastard terrorists in planes did not change the world. Politicians and banks did.
Currently listening to this now on “BBC Radio 5 Live” - He was some man. It talks about the way he turned down a massive NFL contract to stay with the team that gave him his break, then how he gave it all up to go to war after 9/11. Then when he died from “friendly fire” and had a memorial in his honour, his brother (or friend?) spoke and said; “He’s f*cking dead. He was’t religious, he’d want me to say it; he’s dead, not in heaven…” to the gasps of some of the crowd - I thought that was very poignant too.
I’ve always been very up front about how misguided I feel a lot of Americans are when it comes to “patriotism”, but I have to give it to this guy, he’s a hero.
Just ended there. I think it was about 20-30 mins long, and it will be on the BBC website tomorrow on a podcast. Well worth a listen if you’re looking to have something in your ears while you go about your business.
